It's time for this week's Power of Veto Competition! Remember, only the following housemates may compete.
Welcome to the Big Brother digsite! We've hit a stroke of luck. Some archaeologists have discovered that the BBCharm house is located upon dozens of fossilized letters!
This competition is called F-O-S-S-I-L, and here's how it works!
To compete, you must IM either Estelle (troynuncdicit) or Ryan (CuzCarynSucks).
When you are ready to begin, we will say START. You will then have 15 minutes to compete, with the exception of Boogie, who will only have 12 minutes (80% of the time of everyone else) due to being a Have Not this week.
Once the competition begins, you'll refresh the forum and see a new category for the sole purpose of this competition. In that category are 16 boards: the Word Station and 15 dig sites.
Your goal is to build the longest word possible in your 15 minutes! But to do so, you obviously need some letters first. To get them, you'll have to search through the dig sites! Each dig site is password protected, with the scrambled letters of the password in the board's description. Each password relates to the theme of the competition. There are no spaces or capital letters in the passwords.
Once you've gotten the password, you'll find 6 fossilized letters in the dig site! But choose carefully! You can only choose TWO of the six letters in each dig site to excavate. To excavate the fossilized letter, post the image of the two letters you are excavating in the dig site thread where you found them. If you change your mind on which letters to excavate later, you CAN go back and change which letter you excavated, but you MUST do this before you post your word!
In addition, you may find a skull in some dig sites instead of a letter. I recommend excavating the skull, as such a rare discovery is rewarded as a wild card, and can be used to represent any letter you want!
Once you feel you have enough letters to make your word, post the images in the correct order in the Word Station board. Your word cannot be a proper noun. Other than that, the only rules are that it must be in English and must be recognized as a word by dictionary.com. Once you've made your word, IM me or Estelle saying DONE to stop your time! If you've made any mistakes in the format of posting your answer, we'll let you know and you'll get another chance to finish before time runs out. But if you make any other mistake, such as spelling, or using more letters than you've properly excavated, you will not be warned.
Note: You must excavate a letter multiple times if you wish to use it multiple times. So if your word uses 3 E's, you must excavate 3 E's!
The housemate who builds the longest fossilized word will win the Power of Veto, and have the option of excavating one of this week's nominees from the chopping block!
In the event of a tie, time will be the tie-breaker!
Note: You are not allowed to discuss this competition with housemates who have not yet competed! Attempting to assist someone who has not yet competed could result in disqualification depending on the seriousness of the rule breach.
You have 24 hours to compete. Now get digging!
