Ahoy, Mateys! Heave ho, the BBCharm ship is coming into dock after a successful looting, and it's time to split up our plunder.
This competition is called A Pirate's Life For Me, and here's how it works.
Remember, only the following housemates may compete.
We've got six treasure chests down below, waiting to be claimed. The question is, who gets what booty?
The competition will take place live on AIM at 7PM EST.
There will be five rounds to this competition. In each round, you'll take a turn at the cannon, and try your best to hit the target across the sea. Your score will be determined as follows:
In each round, we'll give you a scrambled up pirate word or phrase in the group chat. You must unscramble the phrase as quickly as possible and privately IM it to Estelle (troynuncdicit). Once you do, we'll tell you how many seconds you took. You must then roll a die in the AIM chat that has that many sides. So, for example, if you take 120 seconds to unscramble the phrase, you'll roll a 120-die in the AIM chat (we'll give you the code to roll dice on AIM). Whatever number you roll is how many meters away from the target your cannonball landed. So, the faster you solve the word, the lower your roll is likely to be.
Janelle, because you are a Have Not, you have a disadvantage in this competition! Each round, you must roll two dice instead of one. Your score will be the higher of the two rolls, making it more likely for you to be eliminated.
The pirate furthest away from the target each round will be forced to walk the plank! But before they do, they'll get to open a treasure chest and reveal the prize inside. Once they do, they can choose to keep that prize, or trade it with any other prize that has been revealed so far.
So which Pirate will walk away with the Golden Power of Veto? And what other booty might there to be had? Argggh, it's time to find out!
